Top 5 - How to make this Diwali season a special one?

Hello everyone.

If you haven't read my previous blogs, check these links!!!

The Diwali season is near the corner and we would have started planning for the cloth shopping, sweets, crackers, etc,.

Beautiful home, gifts, lights, colour, decorations, friends, sweets ..the list is endless. The coming weekend will see the beginning of celebrations with Diwali Mela in every locality. But this year Diwali is going to be the New Normal Diwali. There is something more you can do to make your festival more meaningful. Will you try it? Just give it a try this time; I am sure it will not disappoint you

Here are some thoughts which am sharing to make this Diwali season a better one.

1. Be grateful

When was the last time you met your favorite teacher/mentors in life? I am sure it was many years ago or maybe there are chances you have not met her/him since you left school. Find out the whereabouts of your teacher and make them feel how important their contribution has been in your life.

2. Spread Love to the people

Well if you feel the getting in touch with your teacher is a difficult task, try and celebrate this Diwali with an elderly living in your neighborhood. I am sure you see them every day walking in the park or footpath when you leave for office or come back from work. Maybe he or she is alone this Diwali.

3. Share Love with less fortunate people

What about the security guards you find every day opening doors of your society? They will keep working when you will enjoy with your loved ones at home. There are chances he too wanted to visit his hometown but was not given permission. Just because he belongs to a particular section of society, does he deserve to be alone on festivals. Nobody wants to be alone. Be their companion. Your children will follow your steps one day and you will never regret this kind gesture.

4. Show some love to the pets

The dogs, the cats, cows and other pet animals remain deeply scared and fearful throughout the evening. They don’t know we will scare them for life in about a week’s time from now. Respect the space the animals have. They too have a right to decent living in this world and we are nobody to take that away.

5. Give some love to yourself

Last, but not the least, the important person here is – YOU. Yes, yourself. When was the last time you spent time with yourself – no not in your car while driving every morning or listening to music; I am talking about quality time doing nothing and listening to your thoughts? It is very important to spend time with oneself, to enlighten oneself and just to be you.

Have a wonderful and safe Diwali. Share love and positivity.
